Overview
This small rosette recalls a green sea urchin, with narrow leaves radiating from the centre. It adds a graphic accent to the foreground. Despite its modest size, its root system can be several times longer than its leaves: most of the plant is hidden in the substrate.

An aquarium plant must never reach the wild: throwing away cuttings or emptying a tank into a stream can be enough to establish it.

Growing in the aquarium
Provide a nutrient-rich substrate, strong light and CO₂, plus balanced fertilisation in the water. Growth remains slow even in good conditions. To separate an offshoot, free the plant and cleanly cut the link with the mother plant. Do not pull the two rosettes apart without freeing their roots.
