Overview

Natural habitat
Indonesia: Muna Island, off south-eastern Sulawesi (a single known site)
Observations (GBIF) and localities Native countries Rivers and lakes
The type locality is a karst stream under 80% forest cover, over mud, sand and leaf litter. It was caught in a calm pool 3 to 4 m deep, facing a spring, in a shoal with a Nomorhamphus halfbeak, at pH 6 to 7.
Behaviour
Very peaceful, but too small for most community tanks: keep it with other micro fish (Boraras, Trigonostigma, Pseudomugil, dwarf Corydoras, Otocinclus) or with Caridina and Neocaridina shrimp. It needs food to match its size: fine dry food and live prey (microworms, Artemia nauplii). Adults also graze surfaces.
