Overview
The usual form of this Myriophyllum grows long stems with finely cut foliage. Emersed shoots bear water-repellent, blue-green leaves; under strong light the submerged foliage can take on orange-brown tones. Its look therefore changes clearly when the stems reach the surface.

An aquarium plant must never reach the wild: throwing away cuttings or emptying a tank into a stream can be enough to establish it.

Growing in the aquarium
Give room to this form, which grows tall and is propagated by cuttings. Medium to strong light is given. Trim with growth at the surface in mind rather than expecting a permanent small bush. Other trade forms, including “Green” or dwarf types, differ in habit and colour.
