Overview
This narrow-leaved Ludwigia forms a fine bush whose tips can turn red or orange. It comes from wetlands of the southeastern United States and brings a light texture to a raised foreground or the middle of the tank. Its aquatic form is very close to Ludwigia arcuata.

An aquarium plant must never reach the wild: throwing away cuttings or emptying a tank into a stream can be enough to establish it.

Growing in the aquarium
Good light is the first key to success. Keep nutrients available, especially if CO₂ speeds up growth. Trimming brings new side shoots; replant the healthy parts to fill out the stand. Check its identity when buying: the two Ludwigia are often confused and are easier to tell apart when they flower out of water.
