Overview
This Asian Hygrophila produces long, broad, light green leaves. Its stems grow fast and branch out into a full stand. Undemanding, it is good for quickly building plant volume, provided you accept the trimming needed to keep the layout readable.

An aquarium plant must never reach the wild: throwing away cuttings or emptying a tank into a stream can be enough to establish it.

Growing in the aquarium
Separate the stems of a bunch and remove the transport tie before planting. Space the plants, clear damaged leaves from their lower parts and let the roots develop. Trim often to keep the height in check; the cut parts are easy to replant and help fill out the stand.
