Overview
Thin, light green stems, often leaning to the sides, form a low lawn. The plant sold in the hobby as Eleocharis parvula is often attributed to E. pusilla, native to Australia and New Zealand. It usually stays shorter than Eleocharis acicularis, which makes it interesting for the foreground.

Growing in the aquarium
Medium to strong light supports its carpeting growth. It spreads by runners: leave space between the tufts for them to extend. The trade name “parvula” does not guarantee the species, as several related Eleocharis circulate under that label. A form that arrives taller is therefore not necessarily the same plant.
