Overview
Its narrow, clearly toothed leaves surround the stems in tight groups. This South American plant looks like Egeria densa, but has finer foliage and copes better with heat. It remains an undemanding option for a background stand in a tropical tank.

Growing in the aquarium
It is easily propagated by cuttings and needs little special equipment. Medium to strong light supports its growth. Trim and replant the shoots to keep a balanced group. When buying, look at the teeth on the leaves: Egeria densa and Hydrilla verticillata can be confused with this species.
