Overview
This Crinum from tropical Africa grows naturally in the mud at the bottom of permanent streams. Its pleated leaves can stay submerged or float, while large, fragrant white flowers rise above the water. Its bulbous habit gives the decor a different outline from a stem plant.

Growing in the aquarium
Provide medium to strong light and give the plant time to settle: it grows slowly. Young offshoots can be separated to propagate it. Give it a place in the middle or back of the tank, where you can follow the foliage rising towards the surface without crowding its neighbours.
