Overview
Its supple stems bear small, light green, kidney-shaped leaves. This plant of East Asian wetlands climbs among its neighbours and can run over the roots of the decor. In cool water the leaves are larger; warmer water produces much smaller foliage.

Growing in the aquarium
It suits cool tanks or moderately heated tropical ones. Good light prevents overly thin stems; CO₂ boosts growth without being essential. To keep a bush in the midground, trim often. Stem pieces and side shoots root quickly when replanted.
