Overview

This Bacopa from the wetlands of Africa and Madagascar grows supple stems, sometimes creeping at the base, that can root at the nodes. Its oval to lance-shaped leaves have a scalloped edge. In the wild, small white, sometimes slightly purple flowers appear in the leaf axils.

Growing in the aquarium

In the aquarium this entry needs strong light and is rated difficult. Cuttings let you renew the group. The botanical sources describe its natural marshes and ditches but give no complete method for growing it submerged: watch how it takes rather than expecting the toughness of the more common Bacopa.
