Overview
This Bacopa from the marshes of the southeastern United States bears fairly thick oval leaves arranged around straight stems. When crushed they give off a lemony scent. Their green can turn bronze under intense lighting. Planted in a group, it makes an even stand that contrasts with fine foliage.

An aquarium plant must never reach the wild: throwing away cuttings or emptying a tank into a stream can be enough to establish it.

Growing in the aquarium
Give good light and plant the stems in a group, possibly stepped so the stand reads clearly. Suitable fertilisation supports growth; CO₂ remains a bonus. The tips and side shoots are easy to replant. Out of water it takes on a creeping habit and can produce purple flowers.
