Overview
The shoots stay very straight and bear fresh green foliage with an unusual pattern. This plant of slow blackwater streams in tropical America makes a crisp accent in the midground or background. Its moderate growth allows structured layouts, but its needs reserve it for tanks prepared for demanding plants.

Growing in the aquarium
Provide soft water, an acidic substrate, strong light and CO₂. Keep nutrients available, especially iron and trace elements. Do not let faster neighbours smother it. To propagate it, use short tops or side shoots: long cuttings readily grow visible roots on their lower parts.
