Overview
The thick storage roots clustered at its base recall a bunch of small bananas, hence the name “banana plant”. This Nymphoides comes from shallow, calm waters in the southeastern United States. Its storage organs set it apart from the other rosette plants in the catalogue.

Growing in the aquarium
The profile gives slow growth and strong light. Give it time to settle and grow new organs rather than comparing its pace with that of a fast stem plant. Propagation by plantlets is mentioned. The advice available remains limited in the detailed description consulted.
