Overview
This water lily from Central America and northern South America forms a rosette from a tuberous organ. It can produce floating leaves and spread the planting by runners. This twin ability to grow underwater and towards the surface matters more when choosing its place than its botanical classification alone.

Provide medium to strong light and water suited to the parameters of this entry. Separate the young plants produced by the runners to propagate it. Watch how much of the foliage reaches the surface so as to keep light for its neighbours. The detailed descriptions available remain limited; do not assume, without checking, that it follows another water lily's rest cycle.
